Frequently Asked QuestionS

What’s the difference between a varsity and club team?

A varsity team has a paid full time coach, and the team often pays for travel and gear. Practices are generally mandatory and there is a formal meet schedule. A club team is more relaxed, with optional meets and practices. There is not usually a coach; the swimmers coach themselves. It’s important to keep in mind that you can apply to colleges where you would be a good fit on the varsity team as well as colleges where you could see yourself swimming club. The club vs varsity decision doesn’t need to be made early on, and we can help you navigate both options!

I am not sure if i want to swim in college or not. Can you guys help me figure that out?

Absolutely! Similar to the club vs varsity path, you do not need to decide this right away. We can help you figure out the best option for you. Some things to think about are what you like about swimming, how do you feel that it impacts your well being, social life, and success in school, and what are some other things that you are looking for in an ideal school (location, academics, etc). We can help you answer these questions.
